Like Cattle Animatic

We have done a animatic for our thriler project Like Cattle. This animatic is shown in the video above. This played a vital role in creating ideas and deciding on camera shots. This was a key part of planning our project as it enabled a way to shows shots we are planning to do and give us an idea of where we are going with our project. It also gave us a clue on how long certain shots would last and any effects or camera veiws we wanted to include. The animatic also shows camera movements as well, all this is a vital part of creating our project as when we get to our locations we know exactly what to film and how. It also speeds up editing work as we also know what effects we want to use and what filters we want to use. The animatic also helps us decide on music as we can upload tracks and play them along side the footage to determine where and what sounds we need.

StoryBoard

Our story board shows a basic concept of our thoughts and ideas in terms of shots we plan to use. We have a shot by shot record to use when constructing our thriller titles
this enables us to check back to ensure we capture some of are original ideas into the final piece.
We have made sveral changes to the storyboard already including various angles camera use, also we have a feel for what props we may need.

The storyboard proved very useful as it allowed us to gain a snapshot perception of the titles

Our Thriller Idea- ''Like Cattle''(synopsis)

We have opted to go for a typical serial killer murder mystery case , as the generic conventions are already clear to us. However we are aiming to produce a piece that is unique in terms of camera angles and shots used combined with shocking imagery.
Our main character is known as ''The butcher'' as this is his profession also the fact that his killing style is that to be compraed to butchering meat,his main weapon is a meat cleaver which draws refrences from other films of the genre. the other charcter which plays a vital role is the investegator (CSI) who has been trying to catch the serial killer for quite some time, its started to get to him mentally that he cant solve the case and link the the muders , this is reflected by his rash behaviour and drinking problem.. The victim we are focusing on in the opening of our thriller is a young woman who has been severley mutilated by our killer but is stil alive untill the very end of the clip. we are attempting to use various locations one of which include and actual buthcers shop but at this time we are not sure if this is likely as we might not be able to get permission (other locations will vary closer to the time ).To avoid long drawn out shots we are going to use final cut to edit into short quick pace titles and shots.

Sound

• Are small and easy to read
